Home & Family TO BE FIXED

New home!!!

Woohoo, I have keys … and a new little flat. Not the flashest of accommodation, but it’s all ours … for the next 12 months anyway! 🙂

Here’s the lounge at the window/balcony end (this’ll be your bedroom, Mum!! haha):

And the lounge as you come in the front door, with a slight alcove:

The kitchen, where the dining table will be going:

The kitchen itself is quite small, but with an extra bench cupboard I have, it will give it a bit more room for storage etc:

What will be my bedroom:

Lisa’s bedroom:

Our bathroom:

Our little balcony:

I forgot to take photos of the outside, and of the beach, so I’ll do that some time over the weekend. It will look a lot different when the furniture is in, and there’s a bit more colour around 🙂

  1. What a super looking flat Anne, no wonder you are excited :-))) I used to love the flat I had :-)))

My kitchen is tiny in my house, I laughed at you saying this one is small 😉 I do manage to fit all the large appliances in my kitchen except my tumble dryer which lives in the cupboard under the stairs. Modern appliances did not exist when my house was built LOL.
I hope you will be VERY happy here for your year ahead, when is your Mum coming to stay ??

  2. Hi Anne, it looks really great and your kitchen is MASSIVE by French standards! Some of us even have half-stoves because a full one with four elements would not fit 🙂

  3. I love that bathroom! But where is the refrigerator in the kitchen? I hope you’ll continue to share photos after you get your furniture moved in. Congratulations.

  4. What a wonderful apartment you have found! Can’t wait to see more pictures once you have your furniture in. Lots of windows for sunlight for plants. Kitchen looks nice sized compared to some I have seen. But I’m with Terri where is the fridge located? Congratulations Anne!

  5. Looks nice to me, Anne! I especially like that snazzy bathroom. I know you’ll enjoy it while you’re there; just happy to have a place to call home for a while. 🙂

  6. Anne, Congratulations on your beautiful new home!!!! There are so many windows….that’s just lovely, though there is less space to hang framed pictures LOL
I do have a small kitchen as well….but as I always say, I don’t live in the kitchen I just do some cooking there 😉 I think I can imagine how happy you are to have your “own” place again….

  7. looks fantastic Anne, can’t wait to see pics once you’ve both moved in. Have fun settling into your new abode!

  8. It looks like a nice little place, Anne!! You’ll soon be moved in and making it a little refuge for yourself. 😀

  9. Very cool…you’re one step closer! It looks very nice…and freshly redone. The bathroom and kitchen look wonderful 🙂

  10. Congratulations on shortening your commute a thousand per cent. The bathroom looks lovely, with a nice big tub. (I do love me a hot soak.) The first flat we had in Auckland (in Epsom) had a living room half the size of yours, one small bedroom, and a bathroom with a metal shower stall and “florida” glass blinds that never kept out the cold. Only one person could stand in the kitchen at a time. It was one third of a house chopped up into pieces, but it was on a bus route and had a lovely lemon tree in the yard.

  11. Yay! I love the light filled bedrooms! Very nice. I can’t wait to see pictures with your furniture and “things”.

  12. A beautiful flat – so light and airy – I hope you will be very happy there. Would love to see pictures when you are settled in. And some of the beach too – I just love the beach!

  13. Hi there A

I haven’t forgotten you – i have been following right along from my daily dose of your blog… Congratulations on finding your new ‘nest ‘-it looks lovely – bright and breezy and near the beach as well… Sort of like Elwood without the cracks!!!!! Looking forward to spending some time with you when you have got settled in and have a routine going… It probably won’t be until the middle of the year or such time about then… It is a shame about your furniture – is there something I can do from this end for you??? Wow the time is moving quickly hard to believe you have been gone as long as you have already… Keep well and take care… Sharon (Melbourne)
