Home & Family TO BE FIXED

My car is coming home

I just had the phone call I’ve been waiting for, to say my car was finally fixed this morning … then he’s called me back to give me the awesome news about the actual bill.

The repairs have come in at a tidy sum of just over $1,000 … quite frankly I’m in shock!!  To say I feel ‘less than perky’ would be the understatement of the year …  I burst into tears as soon as I hung up, and now I just feel physically sick.

If stitching is good for relieving stress, then I should be stitching up a storm soon! Please accept my apologies if you don’t hear from me for a few days … I think I’m just going to go sit in a corner with my head in the sand for a while 😦

I suppose I should go put the final knife in and open the electricity bill that just arrived last Thursday too … might as well get it all over with in one hit.

I’ll be back again when I feel a bit perkier …

  1. Big, big ((hugs)) Anne … I hear your pain loud and clear, we’ve been living it for about six months now 😦

Just keep on plodding though – these things DO work out!

  2. Oh bugger, Anne. Cars stink. So sorry this has happened. I hope you get some good de-stress stitching in, and the good-luck fairy comes your way soon.

  3. Awwww! That’s awful news, Anne! I hope the stitching provides the stress relief you need. I’ll be thinking of you. {{{HUGS}}}

  4. Oh Anne, no wonder you cried. Have you thought about getting shot of your car? Our electronic ignition went last year, and it cost us a lot to get fixed (and it was only a second hand part – it would’ve taken four weeks for a new one to be imported). A few weeks ago the same friggin’ light appeared to warn us – by the next day we had sold it and bought another car. We figured the money was better off going into a new one, rather than pouring cash into a black hole. Bloody cars!!! Sending hugs your way.

  5. Oh, dear :(((((
I’m sending big smiles 🙂 and big {{hugs}} your way. I just don’t know what to say…things will work out eventually!

  6. Oh Anne, I’m so sorry. Sending you loads of {{{{hugs}}}} and good thoughts – hope things start looking up soon.

  7. Oh Anne! The car repairers of the word must be against all of us. I just got my estimate for my car…1,600 dollars. (((hugs))) It has to get better:)

  8. Hi Anne, I love reading your blog. I just wanted you to know that I feel for you concerning your car/$ issues. My own car just needed maintenance totalling over $3000 American. We just bought a new car for DH since we finally got tired of putting $ into his. It never ends! So sending some hugs from New York!

    Nancy

P.S. Love your CA Wells pieces! Glad you were able to take the class.

  9. Oh wow! I’m glad your car is finally coming home, but what a blow to your finances! My thoughts are with you Anne and I hope it all works out.

  10. Eeeeep! Reminds me of what we had to drop a $2500 transmission in an SUV out of the blue. Cars are expensive little buggers, aren’t they? It’s amazing how much it can cost to travel from point A to point B on a regular basis.

    *BIG hugs* coming your way!

  11. Bugga – man that’s almost enough money to buy another car with. i hope the repairs last a while.
Will they let you pay it off in installments?

“this too shall pass….” – hang in there. Sounds like you need a good dose of stitching.
