After Nicki kindly offered me some blue silks to come up with a new colourway, I started thinking I’d love something in “Monet” colours … then a few minutes later I remembered I had a Silk ‘n’ Colors thread that was in that sort of colourway. No sooner had I found that thread, that I looked at my couple of RG Splendor threads I had, and found a dusky mauve that matched … there was no hope after that!
I’ve been dragging threads from all over the place, including pilfering one from the Stitching Leporello kit, and utilising the green from the original Pyramid kit. Anyway, I can’t believe it, but I think I’ve come up with a colour scheme that I’m really really happy with! It means I just have to buy a couple of skeins of silks, as some colours need extra lengths – plus I need to buy about 4 skeins of the Hand-Dyed Fibres premium silk (in Midnight) … anyway, without further ado I’ll show you my final choices (I just hope like hell I can get the remaining skeins from Karen at Dragonfly Dreams super-quick!). The threads are in the same order that I’d be stitching them on the bargello bands.
I hope CA Wells isn’t too upset I’ve totally changed her colour scheme – but I have to admit I really love this new one so much better. I wasn’t really looking forward to stitching it before, but now I can’t wait to get started, and that’s gotta be a good thing! 😀
The new threads are, from left to right: Silk ‘n’ Colours 982 Summer Shadows, Hand-Dyed Fibers Midnight, mystery green silk from the original kit, Soie Cristale 7063, NPI silk 352, RG Splendor S936, and AVAS Soie d’Alger 2212. Rightio, I’m off to start ordering (yes, you’d be right in thinking “aren’t you supposed to be stitching today?” … but there’s always tonight in front of the TV right? LOL).
I was going to suggest duplicating the colors from the Peacock one, but I love the color scheme you came up with! You’re quite resourceful. You’re going to be so much happier with the result and the whole experience.
What a pretty color scheme! I like it and think your triangle will out looking good! :o)
Those colours look fabulous 🙂 Only you have to be happy with it though 🙂
I can’t wait to see you progressively complete this one 🙂
Beautiful alternative color scheme, Anne! I think CS Wells will be intrigued by your substitutions and will be as eager to see how they work together as you are!
That’s a lovely colour scheme Anne! You’ll be so much happier if you love the colours – can’t wait to see how it looks 🙂
Monet! Yummy! If you come to France one day, you’ll have to visit the gardens in Giverny.
Those new colours are gorgeous. You are very talented at creating colour schemes! 🙂
Fabulous colors Anne! Can’t wait to see it in progress 🙂
You’ve got to be happy with the colours, Anne, and I think you’ve come up with a really nice combination. I’m sure CA Wells won’t mind a bit!
Great colors! I bet Karen does get her fibers to you quickly – she is known for that (what else would I say about my bestest bud??) – LOL!
Oh, I like those color combinations better. I think it will look fabulous and can’t wait to see your progress!
Oh my gosh, Anne! Your new color scheme is totally inspired, how wonderful! 😀 The original colorway suited me fine, but understood why you were unhappy with it. CA shouldn’t mind your changes, in fact, should welcome such creativity. Now I really can’t wait to see your progress pics. 😀
You picked out beautiful colors! I can’t wait to see your progress pictures. 🙂
What a gorgeous colorway! It’s going to be awesome.
Beautiful colours – looking forward to seeing your progress.

What lovely colors you’ve chosen, Anne! Have fun at the class!
Love it! 🙂 Hooray!
I have some Summer Shadows left over from Sylvie’s bag last year if you need it but I guess you may need more than another half skein?
Oh my goodness…I love your choice of colors! I’m looking forward to seeing your progress on this one 🙂
Nice colour selection Anne, CA is always interested to see the different colour schemes people use

I wasn’t convinced by the first colour schemes, but this one is really great, I’m sure your pyramid will be stunning !
Great choices! These look more “you”. Can’t wait to see them stitched up!
Hooray…It fits, it blends, it tones and looks perfect for you, I love it 🙂 Go get stitching now 😉
Your colour choice is fantastic and so much nicer than the original. I’m suprised at seeing your pictures of what the original colours look like. I like pink but those where just blechhh! LOL! I think you’ve done well and I’m going to enjoy watching what you do with those threads. 🙂
