My choice for this week’s theme is a sculpture at the McClelland Sculpture Park, Frankston – this is definitely what I would consider to be “heavy”!

PhotoHunt – Narrow
My choices this week are varied … first up are the trams of Hong Kong – they remind me of toys on a track, they’re quite tall and narrow … I guess space is at a premium there!
Also here’s the narrow roadway travelling up to the Remarkables skifield in Queenstown, New Zealand – that drive is definitely not for the faint-hearted with some sheer drops off to the side!
PhotoHunt – Old-Fashioned
PhotoHunt – Important
My choices for this theme are a bit ‘lateral’ … I think it’s important in life to take a step back, and take time to smell the roses … enjoy some peace and tranquility, and allow the time for your soul to find calm. I found the gardens behind the Sik Sik Yuen temple in Hong Kong to be extremely peaceful and tranquil – a place to breathe deeply and feel at one with the world … I love this photo with the hustle and bustle of the city so close at hand in the background, but a place of serene bliss amidst all of that 🙂
Also, it’s important to appreciate and enjoy the small things in life … like this sculpture in the Enchanted Maze Garden, Mornington Peninsula – I loved the tranquility of the whole setting around this sculptural piece, as well as loving the caring pose of the girl herself, totally engrossed in the caring of the wee frog 🙂
PhotoHunt – Skinny
Here is a photo of a skinny sculpture at Ashcombe Maze & Lavender Gardens, Mornington Peninsula.
Also, here is one seriously skinny Christmas Tree – Frazier’s best friend was too tight to buy a proper Christmas tree from the retailers, and decided in his usual illegal fashion to steal one from a farmer’s property … and almost got bitten by a brown snake for his trouble. Would have served him right, too, for stealing!! Anyway, I nicknamed the tree “Jenny”, after the Jenny Craig diet regime … ‘cos I thought it looked liked a poor starved wee thing 😉
Photo Hunt – Delicious
PhotoHunt – Messy (& a snake)
Here is a photo of Frankston beach – it’s a bit messy due to strong winds, and general rubbish that people have thrown away … litterbugs annoy me! Gotta feel sorry for that poor seagull too 😦
And now to freak my Mum out even further, here’s a photo of our infamous visitor on 23 December – he wanted to come join the party, but we were happy to give him the whole house to himself until the snake catcher appeared on the scene! Nigel took this photo as the snake catcher was disturbing it to get a good grip on him to pick him up. Welcome to the only red-bellied black snake I hope to ever see this close … ever! In fact, add all other venomous snakes into that mix as well !!! I’ve actually had nightmares during the night a couple of times dreaming of snakes slithering over me while I’m sleeping, which certainly makes a change from spider nightmares – I hadn’t realised it’d freaked me out so much, but obviously my subconscious was freaked out big time!! 😮
Photo Hunt – Light
I don’t know what I would do if I couldn’t “delay post” these piccies for the Photo Hunt! They’re pre-loaded right up until February 2008 … so even when I’m not online I’m still posting once a week 😉
This week’s theme is “light” … a bit lame, but the saying “as light as a feather” came to mind, so here is my choice this week – taken on Frankston’s beach 🙂
PhotoHunt – Small
Here is a photo of lavender at the Ashcombe Maze & Lavender Gardens, Mornington Peninsula – for such a small creature, I love watching the bees flying around the lavender heads, and alighting on each one … it’s fascinating to watch. The photo is clickable, so you should be able to zoom in a bit closer I think.
