Mixed bag of allsorts

It’s been an interesting weekend and start to the week so far … this week I’ve been totally addicted to Ghost Trappers on Facebook – I’ve been having a blast!  I actually found the game’s Wiki and have been learning more about playing, and it’s all making a heckuva lot more sense!  And I’ve been glued to the chat room and internet radio for giveaway prizes, and been exceptionally lucky to win 3 or 4 prizes … now all I need to do is transfer that luck to the Lotto draws, and I’ll be happy LOL 😉

I haven’t been stitching much at all – on Sunday (or Saturday night, I can’t remember now!) I managed to get the following paltry start into Mirabilia’s Enchanted Mermaid … quite pitiful, really!

What I did do, though, is to go online and order my first picture frames to give it a shot with framing myself.  This is how I’ve chosen to frame five of my stitches pieces – the biggest piece size-wise is probably Graeme Ross’ Tiger, and I’ve chosen a total of three mats for that one.  Fingers crossed the frames/mats all look OK when they arrive, and that I manage to actually put them all together!

And on that note, I’d better hit the hay – I’ve been up until 1am every night this week playing and hunting ghosties on Ghost Trappers and think it’s time I hit the sheets before the haunting hour!!

I also just remembered that I need to draw the names of the scissor fob winners, so I’ll rope my friend and flatmate Katie into giving me an impartial hand in drawing names out of the proverbial hat over the next couple of days 🙂

    1. Oh I so hope so, Barbara – if I can get the hang of it, it’ll save a major fortune on framing costs … cutting it potentially in half, I reckon! And it’ll be soooo nice to finally see some pieces all framed up and finished 🙂 Hope the house showing and selling is going well, and that you have a buyer confirmed soon! 😀 Love and hugs, Anne xx PS: You do know I now have to include a trip to Maine instead of the Netherlands, as part of my eventual future round the world trip, don’t you! ;P

  1. I’m so sad…for some reason the photos are not showing up for me! =( But I totally feel you on the whole Facebook thing!!! I get addicted to those games too….maybe I should check out this ghost trapper…oh boy, I see my stitching time diminishing! =)

    1. Hi Andie – I’m using http://www.frameco.com.au for the supplies. I actually bought their frame clamp at a recent craft show. Unfortunately they don’t have a great supply of frames in comparison to some others, but they reckon they have chosen those ones because they give good results with nice clean edges for novices in particular. I figured I’d just do a few first, then start looking at others with better selections maybe 🙂 It’s gonna be a HUGE saving!

They do send to the UK and US, so presume will post anywhere – you can also upload pictures into their Smart Framer site (which is what I used) so you can see what different mats and frames look like – it’s pretty cool 🙂 http://www.clubframeco.com/smartFramer.html

I also took out a 12 month APFS membership (amateur picture framing) with them as the discounts you get offset the membership fee after even just a couple of frames.

      Hugs, Anne

  2. Hi, Anne. Look forward to seeing your framed pieces :-)I’ve been considering ordering from frameco, but as you mentioned, I thought their options were so few. I’ve found another framer in Brisbane that’s offering the chop service with heaps more frames. I’ll give them a try and let you know how that goes. {hugs}Pokua
