Happy New Year!!!

Here’s hoping 2008 is a wonderful year for all of us – filled with everything our hearts desire ๐Ÿ˜€

As it’s now 2008 ‘down under’ in Australia, I’llย finish the year with a photo of the Sydney fireworks over the harbour last New Year – compliments of the online Sydney Morning Herald.ย  Unfortunately I’m not out at the harbour seeing the fireworks first hand (that’s the plan for next year though!) – I’m seeing the New Year in with Mark and Leisa and some of their friends at home … where I’ve been happily supping Jim Beam and L&P all night after finding a small asian supermarket near work that sells L&P … I’m a happy girl ๐Ÿ˜‰

Not only that, though – I’d also like to offer something, in way of thanks to everyone who has been supportive and a regular reader of my blog throughout the last two years, especially when I haven’t had chance to reciprocate with regular reading and support of my own.ย  I am going to hold a prize draw for something stitched by me … I can’t guarantee it will be received by the winner this side of February, but I would like to give something back in thanks for the friendship I’ve received, especially during my most stressful times in 2007!

So, if you’d like to go into the draw for something stitched by me, please leave a comment in this post – I’ll leave the draw open until theย end of January, when I’ll draw a name out of the proverbial hat, complements of random.org ๐Ÿ˜€

  1. What a lovely picture ๐Ÿ™‚ Sounds like your ringing in the New Year well with Jim and L&P! I hope that 2008 is nothing but sunshine and rainbows for you!

  2. Anne – I’d love to be entered into the drawing!

Thanks for sharing the picture – I always go online to see what they’ve done this year on the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

I think messing with the crowds would be too awful to contemplate, so you’ll have to find a friend with a cabin cruiser, so you won’t have to worry about driving home afterwards!

    Happy New Year!

  3. Dear Anne, I only found your blog a couple of months ago but really enjoy reading about you and your life. It is amazing the ability you have to accomplish so much in such a short time. Thank you for helping me with my blog and all the encouragement you give. Do you think if I rubbed shoulders with you, some of your energy would pass on to me? Have a great New Year…………..Kathy……… PS If I can be included in your draw, that would be grand.

  4. The news here has been showing the Sydney fireworks all day, since you’re among the first to ring in the new year. I was wondering if you were there ๐Ÿ™‚

I would love to be entered into the drawing!

  5. I don’t need a prize to leave a comment. I have just enjoyed your blog, even the parts not about stitching. I hope 2008 is a peaceful and productive year for you.

  6. Dear Anne, your blog is definitely a bright haven on the internet! Your optimism and sense of humor have kept you and us all uplifted in the midst of trial after trial! Hope 2008 holds all kinds of good things for you! ๐Ÿ˜€

  7. I saw the Sydney fireworks on both French and Cyprus television (news times are thoughtfully staggered, it seems, just for me), most impressive! I can tell you that the Nicosia fireworks were extremely low-key in comparison… Wishing you many happy dances and lots of time for stitching and blogging in 2008.

  8. Happy New Year! Wonderful picture of the fireworks. I watched the fireworks at the London Eye but only on tv – the crowds put me off too and then I would have had a 2 hours drive to get home so I settled for the tv! Would love to be entered into your draw.

  9. Happy New Year Anne ! I wish you all the best for the coming year and thanks for your comment, as you can see, I don’t comment that much, but I regularly drop by and have a quick look at all your lovely stitching.

  10. Beautiful photo! I don’t comment as much as I ought to, either, but I have enjoyed your blog for some time… have a Happy New Year filled with stitchy goodness ๐Ÿ™‚

  11. Happy New Year Anne! Go on stitching and blogging as you did in the past. And I promise to comment more ๐Ÿ™‚
I love the fireworks picture. That’s the first thing I missed here in CA. In Germany everyone had his own little firework and here no firework at all…..
    Hugs,
    Bine

  12. Forgot to say Anne……

Hope you’ll join us on the Bent Creek Red Thread SAL, it’ll be so fab when it’s completed. Hope the move goes smoothly ๐Ÿ™‚
