Stoney Creek: Nature’s Resting Place

Started approx 1992. One of my first attempts at cross stitch. Unfortunately too late I realized that the top half of the piece should have been stitched with only 1 strand of thread – but it was too late, I’d stitched the entire part … and decided not to bother unpicking it. Possibly should get the award for sitting the longest in my “UFO” pile! This chart was also responsible for me starting to buy most of the DMC stranded cotton collection.

Martha’s Hussif – from “Hoop is not a Four-Letter Word” class (designer Martha Schmidt) – Started August 1999
Class project from “Hoop is not a Four-Letter Word” – taught by Martha Schmidt, Heart of Cross Stitch Festival, Sacramento, CA, USA. The kit uses pink flosses and fabric lining, but I changed the colours to reflect my personal tastes more – and chose blues just for a change!
