Cross Stitch

Cut up fabrics galore…

I now have two piles of new projects that have their fabrics all cut out ready for stitching … I have to admit I really enjoyed the process of getting all the fabrics out of the drawers, picking out a ‘few’ charts, and attacking everything with the scissors.  Of course it’ll take me forever to stitch everything, and I already have a few drawers of projects semi-kitted up from when my stash was all in storage … but now there are even more yummy projects to choose from, including some sweet little freebies.

The projects that have now joined the semi-kitted pile are:

Plus a few online freebies and one chart for a gift 🙂

Of course I haven’t put a single stitch into fabric all weekend, but I had an absolute ball, and it was just what the doctor ordered 🙂

One other thing I managed this afternoon was to set up my old TV in my bedroom with a DVR – my old DVR in the lounge died about 6 months ago, and I replaced it a few months ago … the only problem is that it’s the same brand as my DVD player in the lounge and every time we switch on the DVD player the DVR switches on as well, and when we pause a DVD it switches to the other player and it takes forever to go back again … I’ve been wanting something in my room to record those shows that Katie doesn’t watch, so I can watch while I’m stitching in bed, and now it’s all set up and a few shows are ready for taping … The Mentalist, Cold Case, Medium, House, and So You Think You Can Dance – I’ve missed loads of The Mentalist since we didn’t have enough recording options when my last DVR died (and I had no TV in my room), so now I can start watching those old favourites again – yippee!! 😀

And now I’m off into the kitchen to sew on a couple of muslin strips to my little bits of fabric, then dig out the necessary threads, and then I’m ready to start stitching a couple of seasonal pieces of my new semi-kitted stash 😀

  1. Gosh, you don’t do things by halves, do you?! 😉 That lot should keep you busy for a good long while 🙂

  2. WOW!!!! I have never seen anything like your list. I am impressed. I have a couple of projects ready and waiting for me and several ufos…but this list is amazing. I love it. Now if anyone tells me I have a lot on my plate…I’ll say…”well just visit….” SMILE. Love your energy.

  3. OMG those are gonna take you 3 lifetimes to stitch! LOL I can totally understand you having a great time sorting out all those fabrics. Yummy!

  4. Wow you have been a busy little beaver – now to get the needle into the fabric and start some of them. Isn’t it exciting kitting up new projects.

  5. That’s at least three, possibly four, years of stitching for me, lol! Isn’t it wonderful to get so much accomplished over the weekend?!

  6. You’re so brave, that would be ten years atitching for me! Look forward to seeing the results. By the way, I thought I was the only one who stitched in bed, it’s just about my favourite place to stitch.

  7. That is one impressive list Anne! I know what you mean though. It is fun to gather things together and make up kits. I must admit to enjoying playing with my threads and tidying up the bobbins and boxes every now and again.
It is also very good to have kits in advance. When we left for Florida I didn’t have to go searching…just grabbed two kits (Siam Fusion and a Toile pillow) already in their bags and ready to go. I have started both of them since getting here too!

  8. Oh great, now this is a list! I had already thought that my list of soon-to-be-stitched projects is a big one, but you definitely beat me, lol.

  9. Wow, that’s a lot of projects you kitted up. Although I am a good one to talk, considering my list. I just haven’t cut the fabric up, I find this the hardest part.

  10. Awesome. Love it. Go for it! Stitching is about enjoyment, so do whatever makes you happy. BTW, if/when you get to the point that you want to do either of the fobs from The Sweetheart Tree, give me a holler and we can do a quick SAL. I think I have almost all of them (except the new ones she keeps releasing, darn it!) and I’d be happy to put a couple of them in the done pile.
