Home & Family TO BE FIXED

Awesome Girls’ Day Out

Just a quick post to say what a wonderful day I had today – I started by doping myself up with Cold & Flu tablets, then heading into the city on the train … met up Alison, Amanda, Rowena and Karen and head to Gloria Jeans to start off the day with a stiff caffeine jolt, then it was off to the Craft & Quilt Fair at Darling Harbour where we spent the day wandering around the various craft stalls, and having a wonderful old time.  The purses didn’t take too much of a hammering, but I came home with a pile of ‘pandora’-style beads, and a couple of 36ct fabrics, plus some quilting fabric for a quilt I’m still planning from about 3 years ago!

We finished off the day with a visit the Darling Harbour Lindt Cafe, then we headed home on the train.  Since coming home I’ve been in a beading mood, and have finally attempted making my own beaded scissor fobs.  They’re a bit longer than they really should be, but I had a great time rummaging through my beads to find some colour combinations that would work … I really do need to make a trip out to Spotlight, though, for some ‘plain’ colours – geez, I wish I’d known before hitting the craft show today, or I could have stocked up big time … if it wasn’t for the $16 entry free, I’d be tempted to go back into the show again tomorrow!! 😉

Anyway, time to hit the hay … I’ll try to take some photos of the fobs tomorrow …

Thanks again ladies, for the wonderful day of friendship, camaraderie, great food, and stash shopping – what more can a girl want? 😀
