Home & Family TO BE FIXED

Not in blogging mode

Had a throwing-up migraine Saturday, and basically spent the weekend in bed in my PJ’s … then it’s been a challenging week a work, with yesterday finally seeing our floor’s redundancies being realised (after being raised in the media weeks and weeks ago) …

The girl who sits next to me is now redundant, plus someone in the next aisle … and my boss is fighting for her position with her colleagues (they have 2 positions available, and 3 people) – still haven’t found out all of the other cuts yet on our floor … but this week sucks big time!

Didn’t get much sleep last night, but at least today I found out that my personal job is safe for the timebeing, however no guarantees there won’t be another wave of redundancies down the track …  Still feel really flat, and morale is obviously incredibly low at work – I’m very grateful to still have work, and feel really bad for the 4 colleagues so far who will no longer be with us shortly … and wondering how many more we will hear about on our floor before the week is out 😦

I may post a photo hunt on Saturday … or I may not … don’t even know what the theme is this week … other things on my mind this week 😦

  1. {{{{{Anne}}}}}} – so sorry this is happening, I hope that your job is safe, at least for the time being.

  2. I’m glad that your job is safe for now. I truly understand what you are going through…I rode the sickening rollercoaster of uncertainty for almost three months before finding out my fate. Hang in there…I’m here if you need to vent 🙂

  3. Ugh. I just HATE this stuff. I’ve been let go twice for redundancies and it is just the absolute pits. Best wishes to you, and your coworkers.

  4. *hugs* I must be physically sympathising with you Anne, woke up to a sinus migraine; after finishing up on the computer am heading straight back to bed (and hoping I caught it in time before it turns into a vomiting migraine.)

    As for the job thing; VERY glad your job is safe. I know what you and your colleagues are going through because I went through the same a month ago; unfortunately I wasn’t so lucky and lost my job.

    *HUGS* chin up hun, and focus on the good things in your life. Don’t dwell on the bad.

  5. {{{hugs}}} – I’m glad your survived this round of layoffs. I hope you are safe for the next round.

    I’m sorry you’ve been ill. 😦

  6. Oh Anne, I’m so sorry to hear about the redundancies, it must be awful for everyone concerned – I’m glad your job is safe at present. No wonder you’re having migraines, the whole atmosphere must be very stressful. I think all you can do is take one day at a time and concentrate on getting your health up to scratch again – you’ve really been through a lot lately. All my best wishes, Ally

  7. So sorry about the redundancies – I know what that’s like too – it’s a horrid atmosphere 😦 Hope that’s all there will be, and you and everyone else that’s left is safe {{{hugs}}}

  9. Anne, sorry to hear this! How upsetting. I have been there before. I hope that it doens’t get to that point. {{{hugs}}}

  10. I know how awful it is to work in a company in the midst of layoffs! Yes, it’s been many years ago, but you can’t forget those awful feelings. Hope you can shake off the stress and keep the migraines away. Hugs!

  11. Hi Anne,
    Sorry this is a bit long in coming; I haven’t visited for a few weeks. Oh dear, this has not been a good year for you. So much illness, and now the worry over your job. I’m glad to hear your job is safe, but after all the awards and things Qantas have given you, they would be nuts to let you go!
