Just wanted to say what an awesome result (in my view) the election results were … apologies to those who voted for McCain, but our whole floor at work stopped working and crowded in front of the canteen TV to watch the result live. Very very thrilled to see Obama bring it home … woohoo from all the way down under!! 😀
Aside from the fantastic news, I’ve been busy enjoying life over here … the next month is a whirlwind of social engagements, including a week-long trip back home to New Zealand to spend time with the family. I’ve just been given another major project at work, which will keep me very busy over the coming months, so I’ll be relying on my stitching for some relaxation!
Inbetween the social outings I’ve also been doing a tiny bit of stitching, and started and finished “Autumn Arbor” by The Drawn Thread, plus a little Easter freebie by DKT Originals – just need to buy a rabbit button before I can finish it into either a pillow or (more likely due to space storage issues) pinkeep.
Next up for stitching will be some more work on Mirabilia’s Winter Queen, plus a Prairie Schooler Christmas/Winter sampler, I think. Unfortunately no photos until I get my laptop back … whenever that will be. At least in the meantime I can do a quick ‘drive-by’ (even though I shouldn’t be oops).
In the meantime, have a great time everyone! I miss ya’s 😀
Hi Anne, thanks for your news – that sounds like a batch of lovely stitching, looking forward to seeing pictures!
I’m thrilled too! And thrilled I was able to vote for him yesterday! 🙂
I think most of us are really happy this morning.
Exciting times here in the US! Sounds like exciting times for you, as well. I’m happy for you. 🙂
😦
Glad you were able to check in, though!
I am VERY happy Obama won:) I did vote for him. The state I live in, TEXAS, is a republican state and I haven’t heard a positive word from anyone! Bush is from Texas….they aren’t happy with him either. I have a sense of hope with Obama. I know change won’t be immediate, but I believe it will come. The main thing we need to remember here,,,,UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL!! There is still a lot of prejustice here in the States:(
